According to Wikipedia, the word 'freak,' used as a noun, has several meanings and uses. It is used to categorize one with an unusual behavior or appearance, one that is a result of genetic mutation, or one one that is in some way deformed beyond the standard deviation of human characteristics.
Why, then, do we use this term to describe particularly liberal, expressive, and adventurous sexual partners?
Why are we so preoccupied with this that we have added words like 'freaky-diki,' 'freakazoid,' and 'freak-nik' to our very inventive slang vocabulary?
My main question is, what does our using this term to describe our sexual partners say about us, even how we feel about ourselves?
What does it mean that we consider lovers who give freely and explore fearlessly the most extreme outer limits and the darkest corners of their sexuality, 'freaks?'
I think I can say confidently that barring the use of extreme toys and tools, our lovers only do what nature and physiology have provided for them to do.
So, why are they 'freaks?' Why do we call each other that?
